Zeaxanthin Often Overlooked for Eyes!

We have been using Zeaxanthin in our three Total Balance formulas for more than 5 years when the evidence relating to its benefits to the eyes became indisputable.

It’s an extremely potent carotenoid…many times more so than its ‘cousin’ Lutein! Mind you it would be expected to be more potent given that it costs twenty (20) times as much as Lutein. That is if you buy the best form which is produced under the brand name ‘OptisharpTM’. (The cost is one of the reasons why you often don’t see it in supplements)

Zeaxanthin is extracted from the Marigold flower as is Lutein, although it uses a much more complex extraction process and the yield is a lot lower.

There has been dozens of studies of this nutrient proving how effective it is in helping prevent cataracts and AMD. There are also studies showing how it can also help healthy eyes by way of reducing susceptibility to glare.
