I agree, we often miss out on God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expect. But also I wonder...did not the father let his son down in a another way? Is it not his job as a father to make his son feel his love? If one way doesn't work, then is it not his responsiblilty to not give up? To try another way, until the son gets it?
