Another theory suggests that <a

Yet another theory suggests that the brain confuses the signal of muscular tension as pain, which causes tension headache.

The main molecule involved in this confusion of signals is serotonin. As evidence, scientists refer to the fact that the same type of antidepressants that are effective for psychological disorders caused by abnormal serotonin levels are also effective in treating <a

This is because most of these drugs are habit forming and may convert episodic and acute tension headaches into a chronic condition.

Stress is not only the cause but the also a consequence of tension headaches. Avoiding triggers and enduring a mild tension headache that does not interfere with your ability to function are the best ways to relieve stress.

Try overcoming worries by adopting a positive attitude towards life. Leaving the comfort zone
Heart palpitations, shaking, sweating, difficulty swallowing, increased heart rate, shortness of breath, and trembling are considered normal responses if facing a life-threatening situation or catastrophe… sometimes these symptoms happen in situations where there is no real danger – only a temporary feeling of insecurity or nervousness about leaving your ‘comfort zone’, usually home.
A comfort zone is relative and different for each individual. Some people find themselves scared of certain settings that may present unexpected challenges or demands. Individuals may also sense feelings of unease when traveling to places where they fear help would be difficult to obtain, further cementing the feeling of helplessness.

Some people find themselves scared of certain settings that may present unexpected challenges or demands. Individuals may also sense feelings of unease when traveling to places where they fear help would be difficult to obtain, further cementing the feeling of helplessness.

Often the social consequences of ‘losing control’ in public may also present an added dimension of concern, creating a hard-to-break cycle. During this phase, adrenaline is released into the bloodstream in large amounts for several minutes causing the classic “fight or flight” response. These emotions typically have an abrupt onset, building to maximum intensity within 10 to 15 minutes, but rarely last longer than 30 minutes.

Usually the body is able to maintain balance by combining information from the vestibular system, the visual system, and the proprioceptive sense. Individuals who fear large crowds, fear leaving the house, or fear open spaces may have weak vestibular functioning and consequently rely more on visual or tactile signals.

The natural way

It is important to relieve the fear and anxiety associated with leaving a comfort zone and entering a new environment, it is just as important to naturally support a healthy attitude to change and challenge.

Eating a balanced diet containing adequate vitamins and minerals can go a long way to promoting balanced mood and the ability to deal with <a

Feelings of being over-sensitive, delicate or ‘overwhelmed’ can also be aggravated by a lack of sleep. Drinking 8 glasses of water and exercising regularly will also release feel good chemicals in the brain and support a positive attitude.

What is AgoraFear Relief?

AgoraFear Relief is a safe, FDA-registered, non-addictive natural remedy containing 100% homeopathic ingredients especially selected to temporarily relieve the fear, <a

Dr. Hahnemann proved this remedy and used it extensively. Aconite is used in cases where the onset of symptoms are experienced suddenly in people that are normally healthy and well-adjusted. Physical symptoms often follow feelings of unease, edginess, and/or sudden temperature changes. This remedy suits those individuals that tend to feel an impending sense of doom and jumpiness.
* Natrum carbonicum (30C) was also proved by Dr. Hahnemann. It suits people who are very sensitive, but maintain a facade of resilience and strength, not wanting to burden others. They often appear cheerful and confident, while inside they may feel isolated. Symptoms tend to worsen in heat and upon exertion.
* Calcarea carbonica (30C) is derived from Calcium carbonate, similar to the composition of minerals found in sea shells. It is the fifth most common mineral in human and other animal bodies. Many years ago, pearls (another form of calcium carbonate) were dissolved in wine as a gesture of esteem. This remedy suits those who are shy and placid yet generally contented people, who tend to observe rather than act as the center of attention. They tend to be cautious worriers that might need a little reassurance.

AgoraFear Relief is a homeopathic remedy registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

How do I use <a

Faced to suddenly with the knowledge that pain will be a part of the future individuals also must struggle to find a specialist to help manage the medical situation and prevent any further disability. That particular specialist who manages arthritic conditions is called a rheumatologist.

There are some tricks to finding a good rheumatologist who can provide excellent care, improve the comfort level, decreased pain and help to prevent any further disability that the individual may suffer with their particular diagnosis. Here are some suggestions that will help an individual find their way through the maze of medical care to find the doctor with whom they can be comfortable and with whom they can learn to treat their own disease.

Making the right choice in the specialists who cares for your illness is an important decision because and a positive attitude on the part of the individual actually makes a great difference in the daily lives of people who live with chronic pain. There are three different ways of coming up with a list of specialists from whom to choose; credential checks, referrals and insurance lists.

Consumers should check the credentials of any physician that they see. There are two main methods to get this accomplished: checking disciplinary actions as well is checking for physicians listed as top specialists. The Federation of State Medical Boards also includes the national Practitioner Data Bank, which checks for disciplinary actions for a fee of approximately $10.

The second method provides a list of top rated specialists who grade physicians through surveys taken nationwide. There are three such databases accessible via the Internet: Best Doctors, Castle Connolly and MDNationwide, Inc. and the third method is to come for referrals from your own doctor, your past physicians, any other specialists you may currently be seen, your friends and your family. By going through all three methods you’ll find one or two names that continue to pop up-the cream of the crop.

Using these names, sort through the list of approved physicians from your current insurance company. Some companies will give the option of an approved doctor rate and an out of network rate. It is your choice as to whether the physician is worth the out-of-pocket costs. And once shows and, if you are working with the physician who is out of network you may be able to convince them to be calm in network for your particular insurance company.

Another criteria is to ensure that the doctor is board certified. Some doctors will tell you they are board eligible, but that doesn’t mean a thing. Certification means the doctor has passed rigorous testing, receive continuing education and is retested at defined intervals. Board eligible means that they have passed medical school and are awaiting their testing, or are able to sit for a tasks but have not yet done so.

Set up your first appointment with the doctor to evaluate this particular specialist and the office staff. When you first go for your visit the patient will bring: the insurance card, any medications taken as well is dosage, amount, time and name, alternative remedies use such as herbs or acupuncture, passed x-ray results, blood tests and any other physical examinations which may be available as well as the names, addresses and specialties of any other physicians they are currently seeing.

The individual should be prepared to answer questions from the physician that will include: when and where does it hurt? When did the pain first start? How long does the pain last? Is it dull or shark? Is there swelling, heat, redness in any of the joints? Have there been injuries to the affected joints in the past? Does anyone in the family have similar problems?

Patients should also consider the office staff and be comfortable with the way in which they handle situations. When patients are waiting in the office well past their appointed times on a consistent basis it often means that office visits are being double booked to accommodate individuals who know show for their visits. On occasion the physician will be running late because of an emergency or having arrived to the office late but this should not be a consistent habit.

When individuals take time early in the process of finding a rheumatologist for the treatment of their arthritic condition they often find they are properly diagnosed and treatment for the illness happens quickly. This saves time and a way of finding another doctor later in the process. The rheumatologist you choose will make a huge difference in the way the individual responds to treatment so, choose well!

depression due to the effect that it has on the neurotransmitters in the brain. Neurotransmitters are brain chemicals that are responsible for mood, appetite, libido and sleep. Studies have shown that exercise therapy alone can be effective in treating depression in a majority of cases. In conjunction with other natural medicines and herbs it can show results faster. While choosing exercise as your option for treating depression naturally there are certain things that you need to keep in mind.

The first and foremost is to consult a specialist who can guide you through the process. This is needed since you need to reach an optimum level of exercise. It is important to keep in mind that exercise in such cases is akin to medication. And therefore, you should strive to achieve a regular routine that lasts for at least 30 minutes, preferably twice a day.

Warming up before and cooling down after the exercise regime is an important element that you should keep in mind. It helps in remaining fit for the next exercising regime. Do not get over-enthusiastic and exercise more than what you can tolerate. All cardiac exercises like walking, jogging, running and cycling should be done to about 60 to 70 percent of your maximum heart rate. Your maximum heart rate should never exceed the figure of ‘220 minus your age’.

Lack of motivation is one reason that makes people avoid exercise. One way in which you can avoid boredom and make the exercise sporty is to choose a range of fun activities that can be done along with exercising. Ask a friend or family member to become a partner so that you can enjoy the process.

Some forms of exercises like team sports can be more beneficial for depression patients as they promote social activity. Team sports make you look forward to exercising. Walking for short trips instead of taking the car and avoiding labor saving devices as much as possible will help you in adopting an active lifestyle.

Exercise is a great stress reliever as it helps to burn stress chemicals like adrenaline. It also enhances self esteem since the patients derive confidence at meeting the challenge upfront. Once exercising becomes a habit you start enjoying it. Regular periods of enjoyment shake you out of pessimistic thinking and help in adopting a positive attitude even towards grief.

References:

http://www.webmd.com/depression/guide/exercise-depression

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/17/health/main681456.shtml

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/17/health/main681456.shtml

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4378389.stm

http://www.mercola.com/2005/feb/12/treating_depression.htm

Free PDF Health Ebook...

<a

Not only are we physical bodies, we are spirit, we are energy, we are a holistic unit that must operate on balance. It is when a body operates out of balance that the groundwork for diseases like cancer and many others can take hold.

It is beyond the scope of this newsletter to discuss the many other more natural treatments that are available to those who face the battle of their lives. In researching this piece, I went to Google and typed in “essential oils+cancer treatment” and was boggled at the information contained there.

Essential oils can be used during conventional allopathic treatments, though some physicians may prefer you do not. Ultimately the choice must be yours. Check out our recipe section for more ideas. Some oils that have been used on the skin before radiation treatments are Niaouli, Tea tree, Cajaput and Lavender (blended into all natural aloe vera taken straight from the plant is best as it is healing and won’t leave the skin greasy).

If you or someone you love is dealing with cancer try not to lose faith. Sometimes faith and a positive attitude can make the difference between beating the disease or allowing it to beat you.

Below is a list of essential oils which are considered safe (with no known contra-indications) to use externally and by diffusing in palliative care. Use in a normal dilution.

* Cajaput may help to combat or prevent infection and also has pain killing properties. It can be a skin irritant and stimulant, so use sparingly and not before sleep.
* Clary Sage helps with stress & tension, is a powerful mental and muscle relaxant.
* Cypress is an antispasmodic and may help with nervous tension.
* Myrrh is antiseptic, healing and anti-inflammatory.
* Niaouli is a powerful tissue stimulant and is antiseptic.
* Neroli is an antidepressant and a gentle sedative. It can help with anxiety and stimulate the growth of new skin cells.
* Petitgrain is an antidepressant and can help with insomnia.
* Roman Chamomile is soothing, calming, anti-inflammatory and anti-depressant.
* Rose is a gentle anti-depressant and a tonic on the nervous system.
* Spikenard is deeply relaxing, helpful for letting go of emotional blocks or deep seated pain. It is antiseptic, sedative and anti-infectious.
* Tea tree is a powerful immuno-stimulant (may help to build strength before treatments).
* Vetivert is deeply relaxing and can help with stress, anxiety, insomnia shock, bereavement and trauma.
* Ylang ylang can help to slow too rapid breathing, slows heartbeat (sedative), helpful for anxiety, and is an antidepressant.

This oil blend for a friend who was battling breast cancer. She used it dutifully in her bath, in a massage oil and through inhalation and she found that emotionally and physically it helped her get through her treatment.

* 2.5 ml myrtle
* 2.5 ml myrrh
* 2.5 ml frankincense
* 2.5 ml geranium

This blend can be added to a carrier oil (in a 1% dilution), diffused directly into the air or utilized in a bath (no more than 5 drops per tub if you are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy treatment).

* Disclaimer *

The information provided here is for educational purposes only and is not intended as diagnosis, treatment, or prescription for any disease. /> * Lack of exercise and inactive lifestyle
* Sleeping in the afternoon
* High calorie intake or consumption of sweetened foods

Fat gets deposited in all living beings. Some amount of fat is necessary since it keeps the body moist, provides insulation from heat, protects bones from shock and stores energy. Excessive fat tends to accumulate mostly on the belly, hips and breasts. Left unattended, it leads to a vicious circle of inactivity. <a

An Ayurvedic physician may prescribe weight loss medications made from purely natural products and prepared according to the specific instructions mentioned in the ancient texts.

Ayurvedic diet for reducing weight takes into consideration the level of activity of the patient and then correlates it with basic nutritional requirements. The emphasis is on a balanced diet that includes food items from each of the groups, namely, milk, meat, fruit, vegetables and cereals. Avoid curds and prefer buttermilk instead. Allow an occasional treat but keep away from fatty and sweetened foods and drinks.

Small changes in lifestyles can go a long way in increasing physical activity. Climb <a

Since it is not possible to completely eliminate stress, it is important to develop a positive attitude towards life that can help manage stress that occurs.

Expecting others to behave and do things according to your likes and dislikes is one of the major causes of stress, particularly with those with ADD/ADHD. You cannot possibly change others, and therefore it is imperative that you change your attitude towards such people and incidents while you accept the inevitability and avoid apprehensions. By understanding limitations and accepting them (and encouraging others to do the same), you can greatly improve your relationships.

Stress is best avoided by changing your attitude towards others and life as a whole. Stress, however, will not wait until you are able to adapt to a new outlook, which is difficult to achieve and may take some time. Techniques like meditation, exercise, biofeedback, or other relaxing practices for managing stress will come in handy until the time you are able to adapt your perceptions and outlook.

Do not keep your thoughts and feelings within yourself. Talk to someone you trust or join a group or community on the Internet. Do not be afraid to share your feelings and thoughts. You should not aim at seeking solutions with this technique. Just express your feelings, even if it is just to get it out of your system. Seek a counselor, or simply write down your emotions in a journal. Expression helps in identifying stressors and finding possible solutions.

Deep breathing always helps in reducing stress symptoms. Breathe deeply through the nose and pull in air as much as you can easily. Hold your breath and count up to six and then exhale slowly through the mouth. Repeat for six to eight times and then start normally breathing. Consult a yoga expert to learn more breathing exercises.

Take time out. Remember that besides your job, you have a responsibility towards your own self, too. Whenever you feel stressed, take time out, even it is for a short walk around the room.

Identify the activities that please you the most. Sift them according to the time involved and make sure that you devote time to some of them on a daily basis.

Laughter is one of the most effective ways to relieve stress. You need not always have a reason to laugh. Watch comedies in your spare time, and avoid dramatic films that tend to capitalize on emotional responses from viewers by always depicting <a

Do not expect from yourself what you cannot live up to, nor accept unrealistic demands placed on you. If you are always willing to concede, it is liable to lead to undue pressure and cause stress.

<a

Turning to alcohol or drugs can also be a sign of stress. Stress may also lead to a lack of enthusiasm about events, relationship problems, and frustration.

It is important that you set your priorities right and concentrate on important things in life that matter and ignore trivial matters. The process also involves avoiding extreme reactions to irrelevant and minor events. Avoid hate, <a

While it is important to plan, and it is also advisable that you dream big. The overall objective can be broken to smaller, more achievable tasks. As you achieve each small step, celebrate the success and completion of the task at hand. Setting realistic goals is therefore extremely important. Assess your ability and set goals for each day that are achievable (albeit with a slight stretch) so as to keep you motivated and challenged.

Take time off to offer help to others. Volunteering to help friends and relatives, even strangers, is a great <a

There is an old saying that ‘an empty mind is a devil’s workshop’. Keep busy with physical and mental activities, and rest only when you need to. While resting, try to connect with your spirituality. Inner peace comes more easily with faith, and ultimately leads to positive thoughts.

Writing down your thoughts is also a good idea. Make a list and then sift through it later. Try and rephrase all pessimistic thoughts in a positive manner until it becomes habit. Avoid using “no”, “don’t”, and “cannot” as much as you can. By rewriting your negative thoughts, you will actually train your mind to think more positively.

Love transforms us all. The habit of showing love and expressing it has been lost in the rat race. Absence of love is one of the basic causes of <a

Watch comedy shows regularly or simply act silly to make yourself laugh. It is a good breathing and facial exercise, and helps to elevate spirits.

Lack of proper communication often leads to bad blood, even among friends. Make sure that you do not make statements frivolously without thinking of the impact it may have on the other person. Avoid caustic remarks.

Carrying emotional baggage is sure to make you retain negativity. “Forget and forgive” is the best way to move forward in life. The past has happened and is gone forever. Focus on the present and the goodness that lies within you.

Help others, and you will find that it gives rise to a lot of positive thoughts.

If you find your thoughts wandering, try to change your environment– go for a walk or meet a friend. However, articles about stress and heart disease cant conclusively pinpoint exactly how stress increases the risk of heart disease, only that it does. Researchers arent sure if stress is the risk factor or if it is the high levels of stress that make other risk factors even worse.

But, it doesnt matter which came first, the chicken or the egg. The real concern is that stress has been conclusively linked to heart disease. The conclusion is that is you want to prevent heart disease or if you want to improve your current condition then you must reduce the level of stress that your body experiences.

People respond in different ways to situations. One person may let the situation roll off their back while another will obsess over the situation and mull it over for hours. Some people react in ways that make a bad situation even worse by displaying anger, <a

Others seem to face life with ease and grace.

Things that make you feel stress are also different from person to person. Both major and minor life changes are considered risk factors. Most importantly you should try to identify the stressors in your life, or the things that make you feel tension, anger, anxiety, and frustration.

There are some common stressors that affect people at all stages of life. They can include illness that is personal or a close family member, death of a friend or loved one (including a pet), personal relational problems or work overload. Included in this list are also situational conditions such as crowds and closed in spaces. People who are starting a new job, getting married, unemployed, retiring, or pregnant are also facing life changes that are commonly considered stressful even though some are positive changes.

Your body gives you warning signals when you are experiencing enough stress to cause physical or emotional problems. The warning signs are pretty straight forward. However, there may be times when you are under chronic stress that your body accommodates to. Normally accommodation is good but under these circumstances when you accommodate to stress you wont notice the warning signs as well, even though the stress continues to cause problems.

These warning signs of stress include physical signs like sweaty palms, consistent tiredness, ringing ears, difficulty sleeping, racing hear or weight loss/gain. Mental signs of increased stress in your life may include constantly worrying, unable to concentrate, poor memory, forgetfulness and loss of sense of humor. When people are under stress they also find they get angry more easily, become anxious, cry, feel powerless or revert to negative thinking.

There are two things you must do. You must identify the stressors in your life and then find ways to cope with them. There are different techniques that you might use to manage stress. Some techniques that you can use to prepare your body to cope with added stress is to drink enough water and eat a balanced diet. We really are what we eat and without enough of the right food and water our bodies dont cope well with stress, either physical or emotional. Another coping mechanism is to change lifestyle habits that contribute to added stress such as smoking, alcohol, and recreational drugs.

Psychologist have found that exercise will increase the amount of endorphins your body produces which help you to cope with stress. Be sure the exercise is non-competitive so it doesnt add to your stress level, is consistent and raises your heart rate for about 30 minutes each day.

Try to reduce the cause of your stresses. There are some that cant be avoided, such as pregnancy, death, illness or retirement. There are other causes of stress that can be reduced such as commitments, relational problems or work overload. Saying no to a new commitment may be difficult but when weighed against your health you may be able to say the word.

Many articles about stress and heart disease will cover goal setting and expectations. Its important when you are deciding what stays and what goes in your life that you have realistic expectations of your abilities. You cant be 100% successful in everything you do and the sooner you realize that fact the sooner your stress will be reduced.

Most importantly you should try to keep a positive attitude and good self-esteem. These are your best defenses against stress because youll see your stressor as a challenge instead of a problem. One trick is to look the stressor square in the face, so to speak, and acknowledge how much importance it holds in your life. Next, ask yourself if this same thing will be important to you in 5 years or if it would have been 5 years ago. Chances are it wouldnt have been and wont be in 5 years. Remember that when you are coping with the situation and trying to remain calm.

Free PDF Health Ebook...

<a

There is a group of <a

Most people will have a natural reaction when looking down a cliff but if that reaction turns into a <a

Working as a window cleaner on high rises, painting houses or helping a stuck cat get out of a tree would likely not be options for you if you suffer from acrophobia.

A traumatic experience can lead to acrophobia. It is not always a traumatic experience that leads to this condition, though. A normal fear of falling that results in serious injury or death can become extreme and turned into a mechanism that protects you from potentially dangerous circumstances. In this scenario, your body will adopt a fight or flight response.

There are several ways to treat acrophobia. If you feel your thoughts start to drift away from the element of focus (they will!) don’t fight the urge, but gently re-focus your thoughts.

Breathe deeply in through the nose and out through the mouth and try to be aware of the relaxation each breath radiates to your body. In the beginning, even 1 minute may seem like too much. This is especially true for individuals suffering from mood disorders such as <a

Try to work your way up to 5 minutes during the first week and gradually increase until you are able to meditate for a minimum of 30 minutes each day. Pretty soon, you’ll start to wonder how you ever lived with out it!

Free PDF Health Ebook...

<a

Meditation may seem like a process that is hard to learn but once you know the basics it becomes extremely easy. Meditation requires is a quiet environment, slow and deep breathing and some simple positive thoughts.

Your approach to life can affect your <a

People who are prone to worrying unnecessarily and creating imaginary phantoms of dread find it hard to sleep. A positive attitude, laughter and fun almost always help in getting sound sleep every day.

The air-conditioned culture denies us all of sufficient exposure to sunlight. Sunlight is elemental in controlling chemicals in the brain that regulate <a

Try to relax your muscles with a massage before bedtime. You can also perform basic yogic postures like the shavaasana to gain control over the evasive sleep. Concentrate only on the breathing and it will relax the tense muscles and induce a calm slumber.

Herbal supplements and other natural remedies for depression can also help in curing insomnia. The problem with sedatives is that they induce light sleep for longer periods. Waking up from a sleeping pill induced sleep does not leave you fresh and energetic. It leaves you groggy and tired. Sleeping pills are also addictive and result in <a
