Ingrown hairs are fairly common problem causes commonly by chronic irritation to the hair shaft and follicle opening. Sometimes it’s a result of frequent and close shaving or friction from tight clothing or belts. People with curly hair tend to have more ingrown hairs than those who have straight hair. These can be an issue for both men and women who shave pubic hair or for men who have curly hair on their faces. Here are a couple of tips to help prevent ingrown hairs and treat them when they occur.

1. If an ingrown Heyer develops along the bikini line hold a hot compress against it for 10 minutes three times a day to soften the skin and help the Heyer work its way out. Remember to use loosefitting underwear and clothing to avoid friction. Don’t exfoliate or wax in the area until an ingrown hair has been completely healed.

2. Prepare the skin and hair prior to shaving with warm or hot water and a gentle scrub to remove dead skin for a cleaner shave.

3. Take a hot shower first prior to shaving so that your pores open and the hair stands out as opposed to lying against the skin.

4. Use a sharp blade. Razor blades should be exchanged every two to five shaves depending upon how prone you are to ingrown hairs. If your hair is curly and you are at high risk for developing ingrown hairs exchange your razor every two to three shaves.

5. Use gentle pressure because too much pressure will remove excess surface skin and set your face up for an ingrown hair. Shave with a grain of the hair to cost less irritation and avoid shaving over the same area too many times because each stroke removes skin cells.

6. Don’t hold the skin when shaving to avoid getting the razor to close. Use a single blade razor which will cut the hair at the level of the skin and not below.

7. When you finish anything use moisturizer to keep the skin smooth and soft as well as decrease the irritation caused by shaving.

8. Remember to exfoliate the skin using a gentle face scrub with glycolic or salicylic acid. You might also use a soft bristle brush and liquid cleanser on the beard to dislodge the tips of ingrown hairs, eliminate dead skin and clear the follicles.

9. If you have an ingrown hair carefully lift out the tip using tweezers being careful not to pluck the hair out. Plucking the hair will only make the hair re-grow deeper into the skin creating a greater risk for an ingrown hair.

10. Before using a moisturizer try using products containing allantoin or witch hazel to help reduce redness and swelling and reduce the risk of an ingrown hair.

Rosehip

Researchers in Chile have found a natural oil that provides beneficial
effects to the skin.
It
is the oil extreacted from the seeds of the rose bush that grows wild
in the south of Chile, a cool and very rainy mountain region. The oil
pressed off the Rosehip seed contains an amazing 77% fatty acids (linoleic
and linolenic).
Fatty
acids have a very important functions in the regeneration of skin cells
and repair of damaged tissues. Over the years, RoseHip Oil has been

on contact with air. Has a distinct oily, nutty odor.

This is because at the base of the hair shaft is a oil gland that sends natural oils to condition the hair. Because it is harder for the oils to reach the ends of curly hair this hair type is often more coarse and dryer, suffering from split ends and frizzes than do people with straight hair.

Split ends and frizzy hair can be a big style spoiler. They are caused from a dehydrated cortex of the hair shaft (inner layer of the hair) which is precipitated by several different things such as:

• Abuse of heating appliances such as hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons
• Too many styling products
• Frequent perms, colors, bleaching, treatments
• Stress, illness and some medications
• Poor diet
• Brushing wet hair
• High humidity in the air
• Lack of moisture
• Towel rubbing your hair after shampoo
• Washing your hair too often
• Pulling hair back tightly

The most common cause of split ends and frizzy hair is a lack of moisture to the hair, cuticle and cortex. And the most important treatment is using appropriate hair care products to increase the amount of moisture your hair retains. A good shampoo will clean without drying.

If your hair is prone to being frizzy or split ends then you shouldn’t wash your hair every day. Therefore the only way to get rid of the split ends is to cut them off. What you’ll lose in length you’ll gain in health and beautiful hair. Your hair will grow back and if you pay attention to good hair care the split ends wont return.

Limit the blow drying, flat irons or curling irons you use on your hair. Using heat treatment on your hair once or twice a week is the limit before you are causing damage to your hair and causing frizz. Chose an ionic hair dryer because it causes less damage.

Never brush your hair while its wet! This damages the hair, causes frizz and split ends. Those with curly hair will benefit from a pomade to tame the frizz. Apply only a small amount to wet hair and then allow it to dry before styling the hair. If you can let your hair air dry naturally its best for your hair.

When you are shopping for products for split ends and frizzy hair look for moisturizing agents, vitamin E, aloe vera, honey, olive oil or glycerin.

Finally when you are de-tangling your hair don’t use a brush but rather use your fingers or a wide toothed comb. And when you are styling your hair wait for the bathroom to dehumidify. The humidity from the shower will only make the hair frizzier.

Gum disease is also commonly called periodontal disease or even gingivitis. The term gingivitis is actually another stage of gum disease and usually precedes periodontitis. Gum disease is an inflammation of the soft tissue around the teeth and also results in bone loss that holds the teeth in place. The gum disease, or periodontitis, is caused by toxins secreted by bacteria in plaque that builds up over time around the gum line.

Early symptoms of gum disease include bleeding without pain. When you feel pain it is a symptoms of more advanced gum disease. Your gums may become red, swollen or tender and you may experience persistent bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth. Some people with gingivitis and periodontitis will also experience receding gums, loose or shifting teeth and the formation of deep pockets between the teeth and gums.

One of the objectives of treatment and how to take care of your teeth when you have gum disease is to stop the development of the microorganisms that cause the problems. Sometimes youll need scaling and root planing from the dentist to remove the bacterial deposits that build up above and below the gum line.

How to take care of your teeth when you have gum disease goes beyond your mouth since the health of your teeth are affected by what you eat and how you clean. Healthy foods and vitamins will help to support your immune system making it easier to fight infections that cause periodontal disease, build bone to hold your teeth in place, and support your vascular system that feeds your gums.

Of course cleaning your teeth when you have gum disease is also important. How to take care of your teeth when you have gum disease includes using a power toothbrush to provide more stimulation to the bones and give a better cleaning to the gums and teeth. Although you can get a more than adequate cleaning with a manual toothbrush research has found the children and adults will brush longer when they use a power brush.
When you learn how to take care of your teeth when you have gum disease you will also use a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution once or twice a week. The main cause of gingivitis and periodontal disease are bacterial plaque that forms on your teeth. Hydrogen peroxide will not only kill the plaque but also whiten your teeth. Caution: You must use only 1% hydrogen peroxide or you will burn your gums. Look at the bottle and determine if you have 6% or 3%. If you have 3% then use one capful of peroxide to 3 capfuls of water. If it is 6% then use a capful to 3 capfuls of water. If you develop irritation stop using until the irritation disappears and then try using it again using less or doing it less frequently.

If you washed well the first time then a second washing may be to harsh for your hair and leave it stripped of needed oils, dry and damaged. Instead pay attention to your hair and what its telling you. If one washing does the trick then one washing it is.

Unless you have fine straight hair you should use a conditioner at least every other washing. Those with curly or coarse hair should condition every day with a hot oil treatment once monthly. Conditioners help to protect your hair from damage from your hair dryer, vigorous brushing and other environmental toxins. Conditioners leave your hair with less tangles, moisturized and hydrated.

The third product is a wide toothed comb. This is what you use when the hair is wet not a brush! A brush should never go near a wet head instead pick up a wide toothed comb to gently detangle your locks, leaving them in the same shape you found them undamaged.

If you want a shiny head of hair you may want to check out those shine serums. Using a volumizing mousse, straightening balm or defriz agent will help you to achieve the look you are seeking.

And the final of the 7 products that make hair care easy is hairspray! Hairspray has evolved from the sticky substance that dried to a stiff sheen that grandmother used. At least it should have! Hairspray will help keep your hair in place during bouts of humidity and heat and protect from UV rays. Look for a soft and flexible formula that will hold your hair in place and protect without giving your helmet head. If you need a bit of extra body you can lift your hair in sections and spray close to the roots, using the product more like a mousse than a hairspray.

Keeping these products in your arsenal of hair care supplies will help you look your best each and every day you walk out of the house, and even when you are lounging around the house!

Water

The temperature of the water you use while washing your hair should ideally not be warmer than room temperature. In fact, the best thing would be to use the lowest temperature you can bear. Too cold for you? Well, hair is not sensitive, so you could at least bend over and give the lower part of your hair a final rinse with cold water.

Why cold water?

Because cold water helps the hair scales lie down flat, making them stronger. On the other hand warm water opens the hair scales not only causing more frizz but also making the hair shaft weaker and more vulnerable. In addition, the scalp secretes certain oils that are good for the hair. These oils get dissolved in warm water, causing further dryness. Cold water does not dissolve the natural oils. Shampooing your hair

Start washing your hair at the scalp, because that’s where grease accumulates. Gently massage the shampoo into your hair with your fingertips. It is a good idea to dilute the shampoo in a little water in a mug and then massage it on your scalp. This way the shampoo is even gentler on the hair.

* While applying shampoo to your locks, leave them hanging down instead of piling them on top of your head as though you’re posing for a shampoo commercial. Piling up your hair only leads to more tangles. Let it hang naturally so the lather works its way from the root to the ends.
