It is surprising how often individuals believe falsehoods when it comes to preventing and controlling acid reflux. There are a lot of people who think that if they drink a glass of milk at bedtime they will not experience acid reflux before falling asleep.
This is because milk causes a “rebound action that can produce more stomach acid which then leads to more acid reflux. The truth is that if you drink milk before going to bed, you may end up having acid reflux while trying to get to sleep. Another thing that causes acid reflux is eating a big meal just before going to bed.
There are two simple things you can do to avoid acid reflux – eat less and make sure that you elevate your head while sleeping.
Other things that you can do that will ease your symptoms of acid reflux are to eat smaller, more frequent meals instead of bigger meals further apart from each other. When you eat less food, your stomach has to work less and this requires less acid. Less acid production means less acid reflux. Do you know what causes acid reflux big time? High fat foods and beverages made from alcohol so do your best to avoid these items.

1 Artery Crust.
Judging by the label, Pepperidge Farm Original Flaky Crust Roasted Chicken Pot Pie has 510 calories and 9 grams of saturated fat. But look again. Those numbers are for half a pie. Eat the entire pie, as most people probably do, and you’re talking more than 1,000 calories and 18 grams of sat fat. Then add the 13 grams of hidden trans fat (from the partially hydrogenated vegetable shortening) in each pie and you’re up to 31 grams of artery-clogging fat — that’s far more than a day’s allotment.
2 Strip Tease.
The new McDonald’s Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips, made of “premium-quality, 100 percent white chicken breast meat, seasoned and lightly breaded” sounds healthy. In fact, ounce for ounce, the Selects are no healthier than the chain’s Chicken McNuggets. A standard, five-strip order has 630 calories and 11 grams of artery-clogging fat. That’s about the same as a Big Mac, except the burger has 1,010 mg of sodium, while the Selects hit 1,550 mg, without the salty sauce.

Arthritis comes in a variety of different forms and is a term used to cover over 100 different illnesses that are characterized by joint inflammation, pain and swelling.
Most people think of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis as the only types of arthritic conditions. However, diseases such as gout, pseudogout, childhood arthritis and lupus fall into this category.
Treatment modalities for all methods of arthritis will include rest, exercise, medication, weight loss, joint protection and cold or heat. The goals of these treatment modalities are to decrease pain and inflammation, slow the progression of the disease, decrease the disability in the joints and improve the overall health of the patient.
Some individuals also find that while altering their diets to effect a change in their overall health they also improve the cartilage production and their pain and discomfort. By altering their diet to improve weight maintenance they also decrease the amount of stress placed on the large weight-bearing joints. Research has also proven that given the opportunity, correct nutrition, rats, water and light, the body is able to do an amazing number of things to heal itself.

Acid reflux can range in severity from a minor annoyance to a debilitating condition. But it is a potentially dangerous condition, as it has been linked to cancer of the esophagus. That’s why it is so important to treat it.
There are numerous prescription and non-prescription drugs on the market for acid reflux. They have provided relief to many sufferers, but some do not respond to them. And they’re not without side effects, either.
Some studies have linked proton pump inhibitors, the type of drug usually prescribed for acid reflux, to an increased incidence of pneumonia. Some of these drugs can also cause other gastrointestinal problems, and they may interfere with the absorption of other drugs.
These concerns have lead many acid reflux sufferers to seek more natural treatment options. Here are some things you can try if you want to get rid of acid reflux naturally.

Candida is a type of fungus (also called yeast), and is only one of a huge number of micro-organisms that exist in a human body. Normally, in a healthy body, Candida does not cause any problem. However, when the bio-balance is upset by factors such as unhealthy lifestyle, stress, excessive consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrate, chronic use of medications such as anti-biotics, cortisone, the pill, etc, then one finds an overgrowth of Candida in the body.
This can result in toxins being released into the bloodstream and can have many adverse effects on the functioning of the body. The immune system is unable to cope with the continuous release of toxins into the body, leading to dis-ease. Symptoms can include depression, mood swings, sinusitis, headaches, chronic fatigue, joint pain, stomach pain, indigestion, vaginal thrush and other fungal infections, skin rashes and eczema, etc.
