Halitosis is another word for bad breath. Bad odor can come from our mouth when we eat certain foods or when bacterial growth has increased in our mouth causing bad breath or when we have poor dental hygiene. Bacteria plus a warm, moist mouth are idea-growing conditions for halitosis. Morning breath and dry mouth are two other types of bad breath. Dry mouth causes dead cells to adhere to the tongue and sides of the cheeks causing bacteria to collect on the tongue and cheeks. It is the bacteria that cause the foul smell known as bad breath.
There are other causes of bad breath including poor dental hygiene, infections of the mouth such as periodontal disease, respiratory infections such as sinus infections, lung infections, and throat infections. Foods such as those made with garlic, onions and spicy foods can also cause bad breath. Drinking coffee or smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco are all habits that can contribute to bad breath.

While you often hear of adults suffering from acid reflux, it is certainly not uncommon for children to have the same problem. When you think it about it, it makes sense. In a normal person, food passes through the esophagus and the muscle will then close so the food can travel down in to the stomach. People with acid reflux have problems with this muscle closing properly, resulting in pain and discomfort known as acid reflux.
When children have acid reflux, they can feel quite miserable. Parents may not understand what is wrong, especially with young children who are not old enough to verbalize their needs. Luckily, with changes in the diet and medications, acid reflux in children can ease. In fact, many children with this condition will grow out of it as they age.

Activated charcoal powder can adsorb thousands of times its own weight in gases, heavy metals, poisons, and other chemicals; thus it renders them ineffective and harmless.
It can adsorb intestinal gas and deodorizes foul-smelling gases of various kinds.
Activated charcoal can do these various things because of its ability to attract other substances to its surface and hold them there. This is called “adsorption” (not absorption). Another one of the benefits of activated charcoal is that it can adsorb thousands of times its own weight in harmful substances. One teaspoonful of it has a surface area of more than 10,000 square feet.

Bad breath refers to the noticeable smell of the breath when exhaled. It sometimes reminds of the sulfuric compounds present in stink bombs. This smell is produced by bacterial activity in your mouth. Bacteria are needed in the mouth to aid in digestion, and when they break down the food particles as the food is eaten, sulfuric compounds are released as part of their digestion process.
If you fail to remove the remaining food particles from your mouth after eating, the bacteria will continue to feast on those stuck between your teeth. The bacterial continue to emit the sulfuric compounds, and as a result, you will experience bad breath warnings from those close to you. The odds are good that you know this and go about removing the food and periodically also the bacteria with the help of toothpaste and toothbrush.

Garlic (Allium Sativum L.) is part of the onion family. The bulb, stems, flowers, and leaves of the garlic plant are all edible. Everything except for the bulb is normally harvested and consumed early in their growth cycle. A wax paper type of protective cover is layed over the bulb and other parts of the plant and is not considered edible.
Garlic is a hardy plant and can be grown in just about any mild climate around the world. If the climate is cold you can plant around 6 weeks before the ground freezes and harvest late in the spring. China produces most of the worlds garlic with a stunning 77% of the overall harvest. The United States produces about 1.4% of the annual harvest. Most of this comes from Gilroy California. There are two basic types of garlic and you have to be careful to pick the right one for your climate. Softneck garlic thrives close to the equator and hardneck garlic performs better in cold climates.
