Most of us probably know that there is a connection between bad breath and dental health but few pay attention until someone points out the embarrassing fact that you have bad breath.

The primary cause of bad breath is bacteria. Bacteria normally lives in your mouth and has a purpose for being there but if the conditions are ideal the bacteria can grow causing morning mouth, or bad breath especially if we have also eaten onions, garlic or spicy foods. Coffee, and alcohol can also give us bad breath.

Poor dental hygiene is probably the single biggest reason for bad breath. If you avoid brushing your teeth or flossing for any length of time you probably can count on having bad breath. Not brushing and flossing can leave food particles on and in-between your teeth that can decay in your mouth can cause a bad odor. Infections in your mouth (<a

Eating foods that contain onions, garlic or spicy foods may also give you a bad smell from your mouth.

Cigarette smoking or chewing tobacco and also give you stinky breath. Certain diseases that are called systemic diseases such as <a

You may have a pocket of pus at the base of a tooth, loose teeth or ill-fitting dentures. You may even have open and painful mouth sores.

If the bad breath is caused by a respiratory <a

Taking care of your teeth and preventing food from decaying on them is important if you wish to avoid bad breath.

Knowing the causes of bad breath can help you to avoid them or at least clean your teeth after eating or drinking things that may contribute to <a

Impeccably dressed, and facts in hand you pass by the kitchen when suddenly it hits you: is your breath fresh?

Even though you might have brushed your teeth after lunch, there is still that little nagging doubt that leaves you wondering if the coffee or the cigarette enjoyed after lunch will have left their marks on your breath. Considered one of the most stigmatized problems in society, bad breath is a fear that you cannot overcome, and as you are moving toward the meeting your mind is working furiously on a solution.

Rest easy, there are several home remedies for bad breath you can use at the office.

* Check your drawer for essential oils of mint, peppermint or wintergreen. Oftentimes they are sold over the counter of convenience stores as supposedly holistic approaches to fighting off a cold, and the odds are good that you or an office mate purchased one of the little vials. A drop or two on the back and the front of your tongue will do the trick and instantly serve to freshen up your breath and mask any unpleasantness.

* Did your lunch come with a sprig of parsley or mint? Mostly used as garnishes, these herbs, when chewed, release chlorophyll. The latter is a known deodorizer and will also serve to take any sourness away from your breath. Unlike essential oils, they add very little smell to your breath at all, and so you will go into the meeting with essentially neutralized breath.

* Check the kitchen fridge. You most likely will find that fake yellow lemon used for those who drink tea and like a splash of the tart liquid to add flavor to their drinks. A tablespoon of the substance diluted with a small Dixie cup of lukewarm water makes for an emergency mouthwash and gargle. Rinse out your mouth with the substance, swish it around a bit, gargle, spit it out, and then repeat the entire process two or three times. Although only a temporary fix, it is certain to have some positive effect on your breath. Keep drinking water at the meeting to stay hydrated and surreptitiously swish around your mouth and swallow. This gets rid of the odor causing bacteria.

* If all else fails, you are certain to find salt in the office kitchen. Dissolve a tablespoon in a small cup of lukewarm water and use like the lemon gargle described above.

While you are in the meeting, stay away from coffee and instead opt for water or citrus based drinks. They will keep your breath fresh and at the same time allow you to partake in the hospitality portion of the meeting. Although these solutions are most likely not going to take away the offensive odor or a just consumed meal containing copious amounts of garlic, they will take care of some of the lesser offenders.
<table

You know you have to do something about it, for your sake and for the sake of those around you. However, what do you do when you have exhausted all possibilities? Is there another reason why you are suffering? Many people find that if they have chronic bad breath, there is another reason.

Food that you eat: Of course the food that you eat plays a major role in your breath. Nobody needs to tell you that eating foods such as garlic, onions and chives on a regularly basis will give you bad breath. However, there are other foods that can be the cause, too. Did you know that foods high in sugar and refined carbs may also be to blame? If you are not eating properly, then you can certainly suffer from bad breath. Take a look at your diet and examine the cause.

Medical conditions: There are many medical conditions that can cause bad mouth odor. Diabetes is often to blame. If you suffer from seasonal allergies, or upper respiratory infections, then it could also cause your bad breath. This is because mucus build up in the back of your throat can harbor germs and other bacteria. It will be necessary to heal before your breath improves.

Dehydration: Dehydration is another big reason why many people, who have great dental hygiene, may suffer from bad breath. It is a common concern. When you have a dry mouth, the dead cells will collect in your tongue and the far reaching areas of your mouth. This will cause a bad odor. It is similar to morning breath when you get up. You are thirsty and your mouth is dry. It will cause bad breath. The solution to this is to make sure you are getting plenty of good fluids. Water is always best for you. Avoid products with caffeine, as this can make the situation worse.

Undiagnosed dental problems: Yet other causes for bad breath are undiagnosed dental issues. Perhaps you have a cavity that has not been found. That will cause bad breath because of the tooth decay. Even serious problems such as gum disease and mouth cancer will cause your breadth to smell rotten. If you have exhausted all other possibilities, then it may be time to see your dentist or your oral surgeon.

Do not let your bad breath get out of hand. title="Free Natural Health Ebook: Natural Help for Bad Breath" href="http://www.natural-holistic-health.com/free-natural-health-ebook-natural-help-for-bad-breath/">Bad breath refers to the noticeable smell of the breath when exhaled. It sometimes reminds of the sulfuric compounds present in stink bombs. This smell is produced by bacterial activity in your mouth. Bacteria are needed in the mouth to aid in digestion, and when they break down the food particles as the food is eaten, sulfuric compounds are released as part of their digestion process.

If you fail to remove the remaining food particles from your mouth after eating, the bacteria will continue to feast on those stuck between your teeth. The bacterial continue to emit the sulfuric compounds, and as a result, you will experience bad breath warnings from those close to you. The odds are good that you know this and go about removing the food and periodically also the bacteria with the help of toothpaste and toothbrush.

Therein lays the source of the next potential for bad breath: the use of oral hygiene products that may cause dry mouth. Some mouthwashes are made from alcohol. This is a known astringent and may lead to a drying of the oral mucous membranes. As this process takes place, the saliva needed to wash away the bacteria on a consistent basis is greatly reduced. The result is an overabundance of sulfuric compound emitting bacteria that continue to thrive in even the drying mouth.

Toothpaste also may present a problem if it contains the chemicals associated with suds production. Most commercially available toothpastes have these chemical substances and therefore may also contribute to a drying mouth rather than a healthy mouth.

It is crucial to read the labels of toothpastes and also mouthwashes you are considering for purchase. Alcohol based products and those with suds producing agents have not room in your medicine cabinet at home and should be avoided whenever possible.

In the alternative, there are natural oral care products which avoid these chemicals and instead seek to present a healthy mouth rather than a temporarily sweet smelling one. The problem with the chemicals is not only the creation of the dry mouth, but also the temporary nature of the healthy and clean mouth smell which is most certainly appealing, but comes at a high cost.

Avoiding the problem is only possible if you choose to also avoid the products that cause them. Initially you may find that the scent of natural toothpaste is not as appealing as that of commercially available formulas, but if you remember that the chemically produced smell has nothing to do with the mouth’s actual health, letting go is easy to do.

Additionally, consider the money you will be saving on <a

Bad breath can also happen when your dental hygiene is poor either because you do not take the time to brush after meals or you simply do not like to brush. Some people never floss and have bad breath do to all the food particles that accumulate in between teeth that might have been dislodged by flossing.

Learning how to brush your teeth, floss and clean your tongue properly can help you to prevent <a

Two things that people do that can cause bad breath are drinking alcohol and smoking or chewing tobacco products. When these habits cause you to have bad breath the friends you thought you were making because of being “cool” may shun you because you have bad breath. It is better to avoid drinking and smoking if it prevents you from having bad breath.

You may be at risk for bad breath if you have post-nasal drip. <a

Postnasal drip can deposit on the back of the tongue on its way down the throat from your nasal passage. These deposits of post-nasal drip can attract odors causing bad breath. You can minimize your risk for bad breath by taking care of your <a

Nasal sprays and antihistamines can be prescribed by your doctor or purchased over-the-counter (OTC). Make sure you read all instruction and follow them carefully when using these products.

Diseases and conditions can contribute to bad breath so making sure that you receive good medical care and that you follow your treatment plan will keep these conditions and diseases in control and perhaps decrease your risk for bad breath that can be associated with these diseases and conditions.

Fruity breath can occur if you put yourself on a strict diet. The fruity breath comes from the breakdown of chemicals during a fast called ketoacidosis. It is not healthy to fast for too long. Eating a healthy diet on a regular basis can help you to avoid bad breath.

Most bad breath can be eliminated by practicing good dental habits such as brushing after meals, flossing at least once a day, brushing or scraping your tongue daily, and keeping regular appointments with your dentist so that you can catch dental disease early.

Most bad breath disappears when the cause is eliminated such as when the garlic or onions we ate clears our body or when the cold we caught runs its course and the post-nasal drip goes away. If you notice persistent bad breath it is important to see your dentist or doctor for a diagnosis.

We Recommend:

HaliTonic is a natural, safe, effective remedy that is a unique combination of biochemic tissue salts and selected medicinal herbs which are effective in cleansing the system of all bacterial or putrefactive conditions. As a matter of fact, it is the very agent that causes leaves to turn green in the first place. Within plants, it serves to transform sunlight into energy the plant can use; when ingested by humans, it has the effect of cleansing the body and neutralizing odors. Additionally, it promotes a healthy gastrointestinal tract.

This of course explains why chlorophyll laden parsley is such a frequently mentioned substance. Not only will the ingestion of this plant help your digestive health and overall well-being, but it will also neutralize the odors found in the mouth.

In some cases it has been discovered that ineffective digestion of food leads to partially whole foods that putrefy in the digestive tract rather than being broken down. This inevitably leads to foul smells that escape via the throat and mouth.

Since chlorophyll aids in digestion and gastric workings, the foods that are not properly digested are reduced to a bare minimum. Osteopaths are known to strongly urge their patients to take chlorophyll supplements prior to eating, and then again when having finished enjoying their meal. While without the supplements this might translate into an awful lot of parsley, with the supplements this is as easy as swallowing two to four capsules with a glass of water.

Of course, while you may have escaped the need to chew on your parsley, there are some downsides to the use of chlorophyll supplements. For one, dosages that will work for you vary, and what might be a useful dosage for your friends or family members might not work for you. Secondly, and those who are a bit squeamish cite this as the most common reason, the presence of chlorophyll in your gut will turn your feces green.

To some, this is quite a shock, and there are those consumers who simply cannot deal with the side effects. Mind you, this is not dangerous and does not hint at an unhealthy imbalance of any kind, but it can be somewhat disconcerting nonetheless.

If you are ready to give the natural odor neutralizer a try, opt for high quality caplets that contain a higher <a

Observe the expiration date, since this is an organic compound, and they do have the tendency to go bad past their expiration dates, or at least greatly decrease in effectiveness. Ask your holistic practitioner for a recommendation with respect to brands and dosages.

We Recommend:

HaliTonic is a natural, safe, effective remedy that is a unique combination of biochemic tissue salts and selected medicinal herbs which are effective in cleansing the system of all bacterial or putrefactive conditions. Bad breath can also result from having poor dental hygiene. Certain lifestyles such as drinking or smoking can also contribute to bad breath. Knowing what causes bad breath can help you to prevent or treat bad breath.

If poor dental hygiene can cause bad breath preventing or treating it might involve improving your dental hygiene. You can speak with your dentist or dental hygienist and ask to see a demonstration of proper teeth brushing and flossing so that you can be sure that you are taking proper care of your mouth, gums and teeth and thus preventing bad breath. If you have poor dental habits asking for a demonstration will illustrate what you are doing wrong and helping you to understand how to brush and floss properly. Your dental team can also show you the proper way to brush or scrape your teeth to help prevent bad breath.

If smoking or drinking is contributing to your bad breath you can decrease the occurrence of these habits or quit all together. Your dentist can give you tips on how to quit successfully.

If you have dry mouth and that is the reason you have bad breath there are several things you can do to correct the problem such as making sure that you begin the habit of drinking at least 8 – 8 oz. glasses of water everyday. It will take about 2 weeks for your body to get used to drinking that much water but once you get used to it you will actually start to notice that you crave water. You can prevent or treat dry mouth by chewing sugarless gum or by sucking on sugarless hard candy.

If you are having trouble isolating the cause of your <a

Bring a journal of at least one month to your doctor or dentist and ask to have them check to see if there are any foods or medications that could be contributing to your bad breath.

If you have any medical conditions or diseases that you suspect may be adding to your <a
