Here’s a Heloise homemade air freshener: In a spray bottle, add several drops of orange or lemon essential oil (depends on how strong you want the scent) to 16 ounces of cheap rubbing alcohol. Shake to mix, then mist the air — don’t spray directly on fabric, etc. — and the alcohol pretty much dissipates, leaving behind a nice smell.

* Lemon 100 drops
* Mandarin 40 drops
* Cinnamon 30 drops
* Patchouli 30 drops
Gather dried leaves, flowers, and small wood shavings. Crush these plant materials to the desired size. Place 1/2 cup (120 ml) of plant material in a widemouthed glass jar, and add the Essential Oil formula.
Stir the contents well and tighten the lid on the jar. Let the potpourri sit for several days to allow the aroma molecules to be absorbed by the plant material.

* 7 oz. of unscented shampoo (many sellers of natural products and aromatherapy products sell unscented shampoo, shower gel and lotion)
* 1 tablespoon jojoba (optional, but can supply the hair with added nutrition)
