Achieving fitness success is occasionally a matter of setting short-term goals that are doable and will bring speedy success that will then spur you on to the next fitness goal. Make certain that your goals are measurable and that you are able to set a target date as to when you want to achieve each goal.

Make certain that your goals are realistic and clearly expressed so that you understand them. Make certain you have a way to keep track of your progress so that you are able to celebrate achieving your goal. You are able to take a big goal and break it down into littler goals. Your goals may be in terms of weight loss or inches loss or in the number that’s your BMI (body mass index).

You’ll need some way of motivating yourself to carry through with your work your fitness program so that you are able to reach your goals with as little frustration as possible. Your goals should be specific as well as realistic so that they’re attainable and will not be frustrating to you.

Goals might focus on losing fat, gaining muscle or becoming morn in condition for a particular sport. Your fitness goal might be to better your health such as lowering your cholesterol, lowering your blood pressure or improving your cardiovascular health. You might have a goal to remain fit during maternity or to fit into a lower dress size. Whatever your goals are you had better make them short-term, specific and realistic.

If your goal is to lose fat you’ll want to determine how many pounds you wish to lose every week then have a way to measure your weight loss and be able to record your weights. The guideline is that if you are able to burn an additional five hundred calories per day you should be able to lose a pound each week.

If your goal is to gain muscle mass you’ll want to consume more calories than you burn concurrently doing heavy strength training like lifting weights.

Sports training involves improving on skills like being able to run faster jump higher or move with better agility and control.

If your fitness goal involves your health your goal had better be measured in terms of being healthier regarding a measurable means of determining goal achievement like weight loss, or bringing down your blood pressure or bringing down your BMI.
