Seasonal Make up Trends

Seasonal make up trends are those changes in make up application that change with the seasons. Many women find that the color of their lipstick changes in summer and winter as they follow the fashion trends or notice that the color of the lipstick in summer is paler, when their skin has a glow or tan from time in the sun, and is deeper in the winter when they may be more pale.

Other seasonal make up trends are apparent in eye make up application, lipstick, blush color, application of glow or tanners as well as the color of the foundation or the type of eye make up application. In winter months colors tend to be deeper with more reds or browns while in summer more people trend toward less color, pinks and lighter lipstick to complement the darker color of their skin.

For instance, summer seasonal make up trends toward a more natural look when women want to keep things simple and look as though they dont even have make up on at all. A more natural look begins with a tinted moisturizer or bonzer to give your face a sun-kissed appearance. Use a light eyeshadow on the lids from the lash to the crease. Many women chose pinks, crmes, golds or other summer colors. Brown mascara will make your eyes pop and rose or peach lipstick will complement the sun-kissed appearance of your skin.

In the winter women can go darker with hair and make up to complement the darker fashion colors of winter. As the weather gets cooler, if you color your hair consider going a shade or two darker. If you change the color of your hair youll also need to adjust your make up to match.

Your foundation must closely match the tone in your skin. This isnt necessarily the color of your skin but rather the tone. Dermatologists find that women tend to use more cream and liquid foundations in the winter than in the warmer months.

Colors of eye shadow in the winter months should move toward forest greens, and richer, deeper shades. Line the eyes with a thicker, darker liner than you use in the summer. Apply two coats of mascara for winter use instead of the one you use in summer. Lipstick color in the winter should also deepen into burgundy, dark red and rich browns.

This fall many people are trending toward the use of metallic eyeshadows. These colors have been popular for several years as the year moves from fall to winter. This year metallics are found in make up and fashion. Youll find that eye shadows in silver, gold and bronze are popular and stunning. Color palettes range from shimmery to more subtle matte finishes.

A more Hollywod glamour look uses false eye lashes, and deep red lipstick. But many women find that this look is a bit over the top for them. They also shy away from the use of fake lashes because of the difficulty in application.

Application of fake lashes doesnt have to be difficult nor does it have to be a cause for insecurity. Always start with a set of quality lashes that come with the adhesive youll need to apply them. Read the directions before using the adhesive and be sure to follow the application directions carefully.

Once you have a line of glue adhesive on your hand let it set for 30 seconds or so to get tacky. Place a strip of lashes into the glue so that the glue is all along the edge. Using a pair of tweezers pick up the lashes and place them close to the natural lash-line of your eyes. Push down on the edges to be sure its firmly attached. Using eye make up remover on a cotton ball to clean up any glue that is outside of the application area.

Once the eye lashes are set use a white eye shadow or primer over the lid. Then apply a medium brown shadow into the crease and blend the shadow toward your brow with your finger tips. You can use eye liner or pencil in a dark brown or black shade from the inner corner toward the outer edge. Use a dark black mascara in one or two coats to define the eyes.

When you use lipstick use a red liner and a blue-red lipstick. Avoid lipsticks that are brick or orange red because they make your skin and teeth look yellow.

Seasonal make up trends are fun to follow and try. You have a chance to try new things and find a look that you may enjoy so much that it continues to follow you for years to come.
