Holiday glitz and glamour goes well beyond make up application. It means fashion, skin care, make up and a total environment of perfume and jewelry. Holiday glitz and glamour is all about feeling beautiful, cared for and expensive even if the things being worn arent.

A woman should start with the basics when trying to achieve a holiday look. Skin care is utmost. If the skin is sallow and dry then no amount of make up will cover the lack of care and health. Be sure to drink 8-10 glasses of water each day to keep the skin cells plump and hydrated. Cleanse your skin twice daily. In the morning to clear away the dead cells and in the evening to clear away the remainder of the make up that the make up remover missed.

Use a moisturizer for your particular skin type that will keep your skin looking healthy and glowing. The winter often dries out the skin from furnace heat and cold air. Dont be dry and cracked while trying to achieve a holiday glitz and glamour look.

Choose your make up colors with care. If you are attending an evening event the colors can be more metallic and daring while corporate or office events necessitate a more sophisticated appearance. But even a sophisticated appearance can have glitz and glamour! Use your eye shadow to your advantage with dark eye liner, brown black mascara and pink blush with bronzer. A dark toned lipstick with lip liner polishes off your appearance.

Your perfume should be well placed and subtle. No one enjoys being overcome by their conversation partners perfume and too many perfumes in one room can give anyone a headache. Apply your perfume to your pulse points at the wrist, behind the ears and the side of the neck. The perfume will last longer and wont stain your clothes.

If you are attending a cocktail party or out clubbing you may want to use a scent that is a bit stronger but loud isnt the goal unless of course you are trying to be loud.

Clothes can be tasteful and look expensive when they dont break the bank. Shop for sales in the large high-end department stores. Sales racks will often have great buys on clothing that fit your budget. Make sure the clothing fits you though! Nothing says unkempt faster than clothing that is too tight or too big and too tight is definitely the worst of the two.

Your jewelry is the most fun way to incorporate a holiday glitz and glamour look into your wardrobe. Nothing else has to change if you include a fun pair of earings or necklace to your wardrobe. Of course there is a difference between that which is glitz only and that which is glitz and glamour.

A look for the holiday that has glitz and glamour is sophisticated, understated but fun and elegant. Colors that fit that profile are bronze, red and the ever-classic black. Each of those can be dressed up or toned down whether they are clothes or a coat, bronze eye shadow or deep red lipstick.

When you are putting together your holiday glitz and glamour look for the office, a party or event always keep in mind where you are going and with whom you are sharing the event. Looking out of place will only crush your confidence and keep you from making great contacts during the networking that can be done so well when people have their guard down on the holiday party circuit.
