Along with the other benefits already mentioned, the combination of lavender and peppermint are great to stop a headache before it can get going, even a migraine.

Added to the combination is rosemary, which helps to relax circulation making it great for tension headaches and migraines as well. Rosemary also helps to stimulate memory and clear the mind. This herbal mist blend is stimulating to the mind, while soothing to the emotions and body, making it a good study aid and helpful at work to remain focused.

Once you get started with aromatherapy and find the many benefits of essential oils, you might start using them in many applications. Just remember, you have to dilute essential oils for safety, this means in water or in a carrier oil if applying directly to the skin.

Also, be aware that some essential oils are photoreactive, and should not be used if you are going out in the sun. All of the herbal mist recipes in this article are safe and beneficial to use in the sun or after.

Aromatherapy with essential oils is a great way to balance body and mind, and in the summer, the use of cooling, refreshing herbal mist formulas can be a life saver. I love to carry at least one mist with me for when I need a lift or a little cool comfort.

My favorite mister bottles to use are amber or cobalt glass, although you can find mist bottles in plastic, as well, if you’re worried about it breaking in your purse or car.
