This oil is cold pressed from the unripened fruit of the mandarin tree and is expressed to produce a green oil. It is usually produced in Italy, Spain and China. The scent is described as tangy citrus, with a fresh, sweet, green note.

The properties of Green Mandarin are similar to those of Red Mandarin, though gentler. It is therefore safer to use on those with delicate dispositions such as babies, sick children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

It is fantastic for digestive problems as it is a digestive stimulant and mild antispasmodic. For this reason it is a favorite of children and babies with upset stomachs and trapped gas. It is a tonic for the stomach and is used to calm the intestines. It is also stimulating to the liver and can help to regulate metabolic processes and may also aid the breakdown of fats. Blending it into a massage oil for direct application onto the stomach.

As with other citrus oils Green Mandarin can help with water retention and works well as a lymph stimulant. It makes an excellent addition to detoxifying baths with Dead Sea Salts.

On an emotional level it is antidepressant, uplifting, refreshing, anti anxiety and helps to calm nervous energy especially when dealing with emotional shock and grief. It also sooths restlessness and hyperactivity in children. With its sedative nature it may help with insomnia as well.

Wonderful for the skin, Green Mandarin assists the healing of stretch-marks, acne, and helps to revitalize congested and oily skin.

This oil blends well with Neroli, Rose, Sandalwood, Vetivert, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Basil, Bergamot, Chamomile, Clary sage, Geranium, Grapefruit, Lavender, and Orange.
