Condylomata acuminata, more commonly known as genital warts, are regarded as a sexually transmitted disease.  They appear in the genital area in the moist tissue region.  Their appearance is cauliflower-like or show up as tiny bumps that are flesh colored.  They may also grow together to form a group.

These growths can appear anywhere in the genital area to include the vagina, the vulva, the cervix, and/or the area that lies between the anus and the vagina.  Genital warts in a man are on the shaft of the penis, the tip of the penis, the anal area, and/or the scrotum.  A person can also have genital warts in the mouth or throat if he or she has had oral sex with another person that has genital warts.

Genital warts are of very great concern.  The virus that genital warts stem from is the HPV or human papillomavirus.  This virus has been found to be associated with various types of cancer in the genital area affecting both men and women.  Treatment for genital warts is done by the use of medications and/or surgical procedures.

Sex After MenopauseBesides the many questions a woman may ask about menopause and its symptoms, one of the most asked questions revolves around the loss of one’s sex drive. You’ll be happy to know it’s not altogether the case.  Let’s discuss sex after menopause; fact versus fiction.

While both men and women think that menopause is synonymous with the loss of sexual desire, the fact of the matter is no, it definitely is not. In fact, most women will tell you the sex is better than ever. Perhaps because there are no preconceived worries about becoming pregnant, both men and women can pursue their passions with wild abandon.

Another fact is that while aging can slow down the process, it is considered normal if sexual desire decreases just a bit. This by no means indicates that sex is no longer an integral part of your life; far from it!

Before going into the treatment options, here are some tips for managing the symptoms of a genital herpes infection:

* Urination can sometimes be painful, so drink plenty of liquids (preferably water) and it may be less painful to urinate in the bath.

* Apply an ice pack or bath in cool water.

* Take a mild pain reliever if needed.

* Keep the infected area clean and dry – lightly pat the area dry or even use a hairdryer.

* Wash bath towels and underwear frequently and wear loose clothing during outbreaks.

* Improve your immune system with a healthy lifestyle including a good diet with plenty of rest and try to lower the stress levels.  This can help to reduce the outbreaks.

Several decades ago, herpes treatment options for herpes included the direct application of deoxyglucose or the actual removal of infected areas by surgery. It was soon found that the former option was ineffective while the latter course often resulted in the spread of the herpes along the scar which was left after the surgery. This is not surprising considering how infectious the herpes virus is.

Libido is a term used by Freud to refer to sexual energy or the driving force within humans according to Freud. Jung use the word libido to refer to psychic energy while today it is commonly used to refer to a desire for sex or sex drive. More often than not when the term libido is used it is referring to the sex drive of the male and not the female.

Just as any other portion of the human body the male libido does not work in isolation from the rest of the man’s life. There are many things which go into either killing the desire for passion or elevating it. These factors can include diet, rest, stress, depression and, alcohol, drugs, medications and smoking. Other factors, such as diabetes, can affect the ability to attain an erection but not necessarily need to design your for an erection which is the definition of libido.

For a man, being impotent can have a devastating effect on his self-esteem, not to mention the sexual frustration that he is feeling. Erectile dysfunction is a common problem for many men, especially in the middle years of life. Erectile dysfunction occurs when a man cannot maintain an erection while in the midst of sexual intercourse. For some men, this only happens once in a while.

This can account for being tired, overworked, and just plain stress. Once he gets some sleep, cuts back on work a bit and takes a break, or relieves some of stress the problem goes away. This type of occurrence is nothing to be concerned about. For the majority though the problem does not go away and that is when it becomes a problem. If erectile dysfunction is frequent enough that he cannot maintain an erection over 50 per cent of the time he needs to seek help.

Erectile dysfunction is not uncommon in the 40 to 70 year old age bracket and affects approximately half the men with varying degrees of impotency occurrences.
