The Healing Power of Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a wonderful and very helpful and effective product. No other essential oil on the market can quite live up to tea tree oil. Even if you are not an essential oil expert or a fanatic about aromatherapy, you can make good use of tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has been used around the world for centuries because it does work.
What is tea tree oil? Tea tree oil is grown primarily in the South Pacific and Australia. Tea tree oil actually comes from a green, leafy shrub and not a tree at all. The shrubs produce a soft, white bark and fragrant flowers in warm weather.
Tea tree oil is produced usually by a steaming process and can be used for medicinal purposes as well as for cosmetics and for other purposes. When you go to your local whole foods store or health food store, you will probably purchase tea tree oil in very small amber colored bottles. It is ready to use in most cases, unless you choose to dilute it with a carrier or water.
The interesting thing about tea tree oil is that it is very powerful when it comes to healing. People have used tea tree oil for years and years as medicine and as a natural disinfectant. Tea tree oil is known to kill both bacteria and fungus and can be used on the skin (or even around your home) to kill germs and infections.
People love the way this hard-working essential oil works and you will even find pre-made products that contain certain amounts of tea tree oil. Many health food stores carry shampoos, soaps, body lotions, and other health items that already contain tea tree oil.
When you use tea tree oil, you must remember that it is very strong. Undiluted tea tree oil can cause skin irritations, so you should always dilute it, especially when you use it on your skin. If you are using it to cure athletes foot, you will mix it with water and spray it on you’re the affected area several times a day. You can also use tea tree oil to help sooth sunburns, insect bites and many other ailments. You can also help cure fungal infections of the fingernails and toenails with tea tree oil.
Now what about your home? If you are into natural remedies and want to rid your home of harsh chemicals, then why not consider tea tree oil? Tea tree oil can be mixed with water and citrus oils in a spray bottle and used to disinfect countertops and sprayed into the air to kill germs.
If someone in your home is sick, then add a couple of drops of tea tree oil into your laundry to help kill off the germs. This is a great way to use tea tree oil and you can be sure it works well. Add tea tree oil to a bucket of water and start cleaning your bathrooms and other messy areas in your home. It will leave your home fresh and clean with a great scent, too.
