You are right it is so easy to get back to smoking. I quit some 12 years ago and did not smoke for almost a year. Then I went to China and everyone was offering a cigarette as part of the culture there. I was back in no time and could not quit again.
My motivation was anger when I quit. Angry at the government for almost tripling the cost of cigarettes in Canada.
It became a principle not a money issue. I was angry at myself for wasting money given to the Government since most of the cost was going to taxes. I thought “how stupid could I be?” That anger was that anger was the base that made me quit and stay that way but unfortunately I went back to smokes.
