Bibliotherapy as a treatment for depression – A viable option

Out of the numerous treatment options, self help is probably the best way to get out of depression. The reason why self help works best is because this method of treatment presupposes that the patient is aware of the problem and willing to do something about it. This is also the reason why psychotherapy works best when the patient goes to a therapist on his own volition instead of external pressure.

Bibliotherapy is a recent addition to the already available options of treating depression. In the early stages of development of this therapy, it was used to treat only children and teenagers. With increasingly encouraging results, the concept was adopted and tried for adults too.

Bibliotherapy can be best described as a ‘reading therapy’. It involves prescription of books to patients for reading. This method can be adopted as part of psychotherapy where the patient is asked to read certain books between sessions. Self help is elemental to the concept of Bibliotherapy. It is primarily based on cognition, the psychological result of perception, learning and reasoning.

Symptoms of Yeast Infection in the Lung

Candida albicans is one of many species of yeast that lives in the body. This yeast often grows within the vaginal tract and the intestinal tract while being held in check by good bacteria. At specific times during an individual’s life that good bacteria can be killed off or the immune system can become compromised such as during pregnancy, taking long-term antibiotics, diabetes or HIV. During these periods of time yeast is able to grow unchecked and the individual often develops a vaginal yeast infection, sinus infection or even a systemic yeast infection.

Yeast are a family of very small single cell organisms. Under the correct conditions if they grow actively and forum thread like structures. When there is an overgrowth of yeast the organism changes slightly and develops long rhizomes which invade the walls of the intestines allowing leakage of the yeast into the systemic body. This also allows leakage of other proteins into the blood system which normally wouldn’t occur. In this increased amount of protein exposure in the body is what is believed to account for in the food sensitivities and allergy type reactions which people with systemic yeast infections often exhibit.

What is Female Impotence?

Female impotence often rolls in both problems with libido, describing desire for sex, and impotence which truly is the inability to reach orgasm. Some of the reasons behind the lack of discussion about female impotence relates to social attitudes towards sex and the vast array of myths that continue to abound. Researchers have found both physical and psychological causes for women who lack a healthy sex life by their own admission. Women who suffer from this condition find that their attempts to find joy in sacks can be disappointing and sometimes painful.

The vast majority of research and options for treatment available address the problems of male impotence. This may be because male impotence results in infertility while female impotence does not. In male impotence or erectile dysfunction the end result is the inability to ejaculate and thus release sperm to fertilize an egg. The woman’s part in fertility is much more passive and doesn’t require an active role.

According to a study done at the University of Chicago one in three women have a significant lack of interest in sex. This means that millions of women are suffering in silence with a devastating effect on relationships and marriage. These issues have only recently been addressed in the medical community and have been found to be just as treatable.

Can Yeast Infection Cause Pelvic Pain?

The human body is an amazing thing. All around us, on a daily basis, our bodies are assaulted by bacteria, viruses and fungus. When our immune systems are fighting at full force these tiny organisms do little more than become a small irritant. However, when our immune systems are also fighting off the effects of diabetes, HIV, long-term antibiotic use or even the stress of being pregnant, other bacteria, viruses or fungi are able to grow on check this within our bodies causing illness and disease.

Yeast commonly live in the intestinal tract helping the body to digest foods. The yeast growth is kept in check by specific types of bacteria which are affected when the immune system is no longer fully functional. At this time the yeast is able to grow faster and further than it would normally. This overgrowth increases the potential that the yeast will leak from the intestinal tract and grow in other areas of the body such as the sinuses, vaginal tract or lungs.

There are many different complications that can happen when he begins to grow unchecked. People with systemic yeast infections often have a myriad of symptomatology which can be difficult to diagnose. Before an infection gets a war or if it’s important to recognize the symptoms and avoid any complications such as pelvic pain related to yeast infections.

Children and Headaches

Children often experience headaches but as parents and guardians it is often hard to diagnose. Researchers report that between four and ten percent of children have migraine headaches. Many adult headache sufferers report they experienced headaches in early childhood. Most of them report having headaches before the age of 10. Headaches in children are nothing to be concerned with but they could be a symptom of something more serious. If the headache is interfering with their daily activities, school, or changing sleep patterns there may be cause for concern.

Headaches in children can be divided into the same two categories of an adult headache. It may be a primary headache or a secondary headache. A primary headache is one that just happens and is not a result of another underlying health problem. A secondary headache may be a side effect of a problem in another part of the body. It could be caused by a sinus infection, infection in another area, or as a side effect of a medication the child is taking.

How do you know if your childs headache is serious and you need to contact their doctor? There are a few warning signs that you should look for in your child.
