External Hemorrhoids Treatment

December 31st, 2007

Hemorrhoids treatment can be external or internal or both together depending on the nature of the Hemorrhoids.

What are external Hemorrhoids

External Hemorrhoids are swollen areas of skin and blood vessels around the anus. They are highly innervated and sensitive and are also at risk for thrombosis. They develop around the external opening of the anus. It is usually very painful as the skin around them is very sensitive. Most of the times, they are just bothersome protrusions, which make hygiene and personal care very difficult. Many a times external Hemorrhoids develop a clot inside of them. This happens often after a period of Diarrhea or Constipation. In such cases, it produces a firm and painful swelling or lump around the rim of the anus.

Aromatherapy for Emotional Security

December 30th, 2007

Self-improvement is about finding balance and happiness in our daily lives. The most important area in which we can achieve balance is in our own emotional security. After all, we cannot find true balance in relationships, our work environment, and even spiritually until we achieve self-acceptance, self-control, understanding and compassion. And while many of us believe we have a balanced sense of self, our insecurities often creep silently into our life, leaving uncertainty and regret in its wake.

Beauty Pure and Simple

Whole oils keep skin fresh and supple—even in winter

Gone are the days when our grandmothers slathered their faces with Vaseline and Crisco, hoping the fats would keep their skin firm and dewy. Too bad they didn’t know that cold-pressed, plant-based oils are far more effective for moisturizing skin than industrial-strength, petroleum-based products, especially in the winter. “Skin tends to lose moisture in the cold, but heaters inside cars and houses also dry the skin tremendously,” says Nadia Arora, ND, of Washington, D.C. And because humidifying oils can be just as beneficial, if not more so, when ingested, it’s as important to Moisturize from the inside out as the outside in. Here’s how.

Surprising Symptom of Heart Disease

December 30th, 2007

From http://www.care2.com/

Any man who’s ever suffered with impotence knows it can seriously impact the quality of his life. But impotence can also be a warning sign of something even more severe — Heart Disease.

In fact, I heard from Mark Houston, MD, director of clinical research at the Hypertension Institute of Nashville and associate clinical professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, that he asks male patients if they have trouble with erections as a standard component of a comprehensive physical exam, since one type of Erectile Dysfunction — endothelial dysfunction — has been linked to Heart Disease.

40s to 50s: Strengthen bones & joints

December 28th, 2007

My husband and I walk a few miles to our local coffee shop every weekend—even though our knees creak and pop a bit more with each passing year. Certainly we’re not the only ones marking time deep down in our bones; perhaps for you it’s an achy knee after a bike ride, a nagging hip after lunchtime basketball, or even a touch of stiffness getting out of bed in the morning. But with luck, smart living, and a handful of Natural Remedies, you’ll be able to keep soreness and joint degeneration at Bay for years to come.

Survive the Holidays

December 28th, 2007

From http://deliciousliv...th/survive-holidays/

Between a gigantic to-do list and general merrymaking, December often feels like a minefield of health traps. If rich victuals and cocktails don’t get you, too little exercise and pillow time might. The average American may gain an average of just one pound this month, but over the years those pounds really add up, say studies conducted by the National Institutes of Health. And that’s not to mention what a lack of exercise and sleep can do to your mood. Can you enjoy the festivities without sabotaging your physical and mental well-being? Absolutely. Here’s what experts suggest to sidestep major health pitfalls (and mitigate minor infringements) naturally.

Grape Seed extract is commonly prescribed in France for varicose veins and other vascular problems. Recycle Your Christmas Tree

December 25th, 2007

Although taking down the tree isn’t nearly as fun as putting it up, you can recycle or reuse the tree and its branches.

Here are some tips.

  • Place the Christmas tree in the garden or backyard and use it as a bird feeder and sanctuary. Fresh Orange slices or strung popcorn will attract the birds, while they sit in the branches for shelter. Make sure all decorations, hooks, garland and tinsel strands are removed.
