Lice Treatment

November 28th, 2005

Apply Olive Oil to head, getting hair saturated, and rubbing it into the scalp, especially behind the ears and at the base of the head. Put a shower cap over the hair and have them sleep in it.

In the morning, wash hair good. You’ll probably have to shampoo several times to get all the oil out. Using the little comb, get all the eggs out that you can see. Wash again, and add Lavender essential oil to the final rinse.

Flu is an airborne infection and is spread in tiny droplets when people sneeze or cough, but it can also be spread by other means, e.g. when the droplets are carried on hands.

Early Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis: Difficult But Important

November 14th, 2005

The principal dilemma in current management of multiple sclerosis is that while early diagnosis enables damage-sparing treatment to begin, diagnosing MS too early increases the likelihood of treating people who don’t actually have the disease. Current disease-modifying drugs are all given by injection and cost about $14,000 per year. Apart from being inconvenient and expensive, there is some risk of harm from them which, if the patient doesn’t actually have MS, occurs without any offsetting benefit.
